Hello again, Love.

In the ever evolving landscape of online content, I'm never really sure of what I should be doing where. Honestly, if I could simply create in my studio and just make all the weird art my heart desires... I would. I would JUST DO THAT ALL DAY LONG.

However, since I'm determined to make this sweet wee business of mine pay some bills, we're going to try this thing where I share what I'm working on.

The following is an excerpt from my Newsletter, which I am currently sharing via Substack.

Am I doing it right?

Who knows!

Am I doing my best and still showing up (semi) regularly?

Yes, yes I am.

You can follow along there if you're so inclined (you get emails from me directly in your inbox just like a regular newsletter situation, it's just coming from Substack instead of a mailer platform.

You can find me as Magpie & Ember : Maggie Francis

The whole thing is Dispatches from the Midnight Babes Association, which is a cute nod to my novels and the well meaning community of busybodies in my fictional town.

And I am both well meaning and a little chaotic, so it feels pretty on brand.

In any case, you're already here, reading this ramble so let's get on with it, shall we?

LOOK AT THESE WEE BEAUTIES!

I can’t EVEN WITH THESE. They are the SWEETEST and I’m so happy with how they’ve turned out.

Sometimes when I have a vision in my mind of a new design, it’s a real slog to get it to work in real life, brains and inspiration being what they are. But these little beauties came together exactly like I thought they would and I’m very pleased with them.

Right now I only have these three originals, but I hope to have them in production for my next event, the Halloween YYJ market on October 25th/26th. I’m going to pack them up for molds and casting today and fingers crossed the timing works out!

Just look at how wee they are!

They are perfect for adding to a necklace stack you already have… I’m tempted to try a charm bracelet with them, but that might be too much for my whimsy loving heart to take.

We shall see!

And just because we’re in a sharing mood, here is a little sneak peek of another project … these are still mid process and not quite finished yet.

The sweetest little curiosities coming so soon! (all the bones were sources ethically, from a roast chicken… at least, as ethically as can be from a grocery store rotisserie, and the tiniest little rodent jaw bone from a Canadian shop selling bones collected from owl pellets.)

This is the first batch I’ve tried and I’ve got round two set up with the first layer setting as we speak.

I have a reliquary design tucked into this next batch as well, and when they are complete I will share the details about this tenderhearted project a little more.

What do you think of the new silver pendants? Which one would you wear?

Shine on, Babe!
